  • In 2010, in collaboration with the NZ Centre for Literary Translation, VUW - a presentation of selected contemporary Polish literature translated into English was held by a well-known translator Antonia Lloyd-Jones, who presented the achievements of four Polish contemporary writers: Olga Tokarczuk (Primeval and other times), Jerzy Pilch (A Thousand Peaceful Cities), Michal Witkowski (Lovetown) and Pawel Huelle (Castorp).

In 2011, at the Wellington Holocaust Centre, the latest book by Dr Marco Sonzogni from Victoria University,"This Way: Covering/Uncovering Tadeusz Borowski's This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen" was launched. The book was prepared in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland. Book contains comments from Piotr Cywinski, Andrzej Wajda, Israeli Ambassador to New Zealand, Shemi Tzur, and Ambassador Beata Stoczyńska.

That same year, as part of the celebrations of the Year of Czeslaw Milosz in New Zealand, one of the poet’s poems – After - has been translated into the Maori language. Also, a well-known and respected New Zealand poet, Bill Manhire, provided his own interpretation of this poem in English. In cooperation with the New Zealand Centre for Literary Translation, VUW and Wai-te-ata Press, a special limited publication of After and its’ translations has been launched.

Following the success of the project, together with the Centre for Literary Translation at VUW we translated and printed the poems of Zbigniew Herbert (2013) and Halina Poświatowska (2015).
